Refund policy
We do not offer refunds but will exchange your item for one of equal value within 30 days of the purchase date.
You will have 30 days from the date of purchase to exchange your item. To be eligible for an exchange, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.
Damages and issues
Please inspect your order upon receipt and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item. Keep some photographic evidence, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right.
Exceptions / non-returnable items
Certain types of items cannot be returned, like perishable goods (such as food, flowers, or plants), custom products (such as special orders, print on demand products, made to order products, or personalized items), and personal care goods (such as beauty products). We also do not accept returns for hazardous materials, flammable liquids, or gases. Please get in touch if you have questions or concerns about your specific item. We do not accept exchanges on sale items.
Gift vouchers
We do accept refunds or exchanges on gift vouchers.
RIGHT TO CANCEL
You have the right to cancel this contract within 14 days without giving any reason.
The cancellation period will expire after 14 days from the day:
- of the conclusion of the contract, in the case of a service contract or a contract for the supply of digital content which is not supplied on a tangible medium;
- on which you acquire, or a third party other than the carrier and indicated by you acquires, physical possession of the goods, in the case of a sales contract;
- on which you acquire, or a third party other than the carrier and indicated by you acquires, physical possession of the last good, in the case of a contract relating to multiple goods ordered by you in one order and delivered separately;
- on which you acquire, or a third party other than the carrier and indicated by you acquires, physical possession of the last lot or piece, in the case of a contract relating to delivery of a good consisting of multiple lots or pieces;
- on which you acquire, or a third party other than the carrier and indicated by you acquires, physical possession of the first good, in the case of a contract for regular delivery of goods during a defined period of time.
To exercise the right to cancel, you must inform us of your decision to cancel this contract by a clear statement, e.g. a letter sent by post to the Online Shop Manager, c/o Sunderland Museum & Winter Gardens, Burdon Road, Sunderland, SR1 1PP, or e-mail sent to museums@sunderland.gov.uk
To meet the cancellation deadline, it is sufficient for you to send your communication concerning your exercise of the right to cancel before the cancellation period has expired.
Effects of cancellation
If you cancel this contract, we will reimburse to you all payments received from you, including the costs of delivery (except for the supplementary costs arising if you chose a type of delivery other than the least expensive type of standard delivery offered by us.)
We may make a deduction from the reimbursement for loss in value of any goods supplied, if the loss is the result of unnecessary handling by you.
We will make the reimbursement without undue delay, and not later than –
- 14 days after we receive back from you any goods supplied, or
- (if earlier) 14 days after the day you provide evidence that you have returned the goods, or
- If there were no goods supplied, 14 days after the day on which we were informed about your decision to cancel this contract.
We will make the reimbursement using the same means of payment as you used for the initial transaction, unless you have expressly agreed otherwise; in any event, you will not incur any fees as a result of the reimbursement.
If you have received goods in connection with the contract, you shall send back the goods or hand them over to us at Sunderland Museum & Winter Gardens, Burdon Road, Sunderland, SR1 1PP, without undue delay and in any event not later than 14 days from the day on which you communicate your cancellation from this contract to us. The deadline is met if you send back the goods before the period of 14 days has expired. You will have to bear the direct costs of returning the goods.
In the case of a service contract, if you requested to begin the performance of services during the cancellation period, you shall pay us an amount in proportion to what has been performed until you have communicated to us your cancellation from this contract, in comparison with the full coverage of the contract.
